  1. Stayed at Keranmeriet for last 2 wks June’08. Had a fantastic time – kids loved the freedom to explore the farm and woodlands. Top Class accommodation, 15min from the Coast, less than 2hrs from Ferry (Roscoff), every intention to return again next year!

  2. We have stayed at Keranmeriet a couple of times and are planning to come back again in 2009.
Our daughter (3 1/2 years old) loves it here, especially when Fizz the dog pays a visit. Some fantastic beaches are only a short drive away, but if you fancy staying at home you can quite happily laze around the pool, or explore Rob & Erica’s extensive farm and woodland.
First class accomodation and excellent hosts means you will find it hard not to enjoy your stay here.

  3. Myself, my Wife and my 2 year old son stayed in the dairy for a week in june 08 after a recommendation from friends. The gite was clean smart and comfortable and had every thing that we required for a great stay. We were made to feel so welcome by Erika and Rob that we have booked up for 3 weeks in may 09.
The pool was fantastic and the surrounding grounds had plenty to explore.
Although the gites are in a quiet location, you are near enough to some great towns and beaches if thats what you prefer.
I had not been on holiday in France for some time and had forgotton just how wonderful it can be when staying somewhere like Keranmeriet.

  4. We have stayed at Keranmeriet a few times and are currently in the process of rebooking for 2009 and bringing even more family! The accomodation is fab and so clean and child friendly- Rob and Erika have thought about everything.

There are loads of gorgeous beaches close by and beautiful towns within a short drive.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone- also would recommend Rob’s Cider but advise you not to drink it in vast quantities the night before the St Malo ferry crossing!

  5. We stayed at Keranmeriet for one week mid june ’08 and came back this year ’09 for two weeks may/june. Being a farmer this is the best place to bring three children who are use to having plenty of space to play.
Erika and Rob are a lovely couple and make you feel so welcome. The gites have been very well done and the swimming pool a great asset.
As keranmeriet is situated just 15 minutes inland, there is plenty to do round and about, for example a choice of georgeous beaches, local markets.
We enjoy it so much, it is hard to leave. As already mentioned in previous blog, the homemade cider is good. Actually, it’s so good I had to bring some bottles home.
Overall, the best way to sum it up is to say that it ticks all the boxes.

  6. We first visited Keranmeriet in 2006 when not all the gites were finished and we loved it so much so we have been back every year since. The accommodation is excellent, the farm fantastic, beaches wonderful, Concarneau, Quimper and Pont Aven great places to visit. Erika and Rob are great hosts and Christian has even given us French lessons! As for Fizz it’s all been said.

We have re-booked for 2010 and are considering changing our surname to Boomerang! You could say we’ve lost our sense of adventure – but on the other hand when you find something good – it makes sense to stick to it!

Couldn’t be better – something for all.

  7. Our first visit to Keranmeriet for the Terry family 4 adults and three young Grandchildren. Firstly the Gite accommodation was first class with plenty of room and all the facilities for a self catering trouble free stay. It was a delight to be hosted by a genuinely friendly and caring family. Rob & Erika were always on hand with information about the farm and local areas to visit. The children especially enjoyed the farm and playing with Christian and Mathis.
To sum it all up, a perfect holiday location and one we intend returning to. Thoroughly recommended for a peaceful family friendly stay.

  8. First visit to Keranmeriet for our family of 4adults and three young Grandchildren. Accommodation was first class and exceptionally equipped for a trouble free self catering holiday.Rob & Erika were genuinely caring and friendly hosts and always on hand with information about the farm and surrounding attractions. Our Grand children loved the farm and especially playing with Christian and Mathis.
To sum it all up, a perfect family friendly holiday location and one we intend returning to.

  9. My husband and I stayed in the Dairy 25/6/11 – 2/7/11. He is a wheelchair user and the wheelchair access and wet room worked very well for him. I would highly recommend this acommodation to disabled holiday makers. The cottages are set in really pretty surroundings and in a great location, only a short drive from many Breton towns and beaches. Rob and Erika were very friendly and please try the local Breton Cidre, it went down very well!

  10. We have just returned from a fortnight stay in The Dairy at Keranmeriet and had a wonderful time. The location was just right for us to explore this area of Brittany and the beaches were perfect for our two young grandaughters who were staying nearby. The gite was immaculately clean and everything was provided. We enjoyed using the pool (although it took us time to get used to the cold water!) Rob and Erika were great hosts and always ready to advise us when required. Fizz became a good friend during our stay and the weather was also on our side! Hope Rob is pursuing his introduction to the different French wines as given by Kelvin! We cannot recommend Keranmeriet Gites too highly and would definitely visit again.

  11. The weather was wet and windy but the welcome from Erika and Rob was warm. We had a great time and will try and return sometime soon. We would highly recommend without hesitation.

  12. Our family stayed at Keranmeriet for a week from 20th July 2012. Erika and Rob were wonderful hosts, there if you needed them for any help or advice and extremely welcoming and friendly, as was Fizz the dog. The cottage was lovely and of an extremely high standard and well equipped, even down to the badminton rackets! It was also really nice to arrive to a welcome basket, very much appreciated. Great pool and walks around the farm. We love Brittany, but have never stayed in this area before and we found it to be beautiful, with a choice of beaches only a 15minute drive away. We took our bikes (although Erika and Rob do have a shed full of bikes) and there was some great cycling for all the family. We would certainly stay again and highly recommend the gites! All in all a perfect holiday!!

  13. Super holiday loved the whole area and gites , everything was clean tidy and to the highest standard . Port Avon was super and pretty as we’re most of the other towns, would so come back here again perfect for children as well x x Erika and Rob unare the best x

  14. Just come back from a week staying in the Dairy, What a lovely Gite, everything has been thought of and is clean & tidy. The area is beautiful.
We are into walking and found plenty to do both coastal and inland.
    A good holiday all round.
    Thank you Erika & Rob

  15. Just returned from a lovely break at The Dairy. Our hosts Erika and Rob were very friendly and informative and made us feel very welcome. The amenities were first class with everything you would need for a relaxing break. We are planning to come back next year with the whole family and look forward to staying in the larger house. The farm, beaches and local attractions keep you entertained. Thanks to Erika and Rob

  16. My husband Derek and I were looking for somewhere to stay for our 40th anniversary with our family and friends Derek picked Keranmerit he phoned and Rob & Erica where so helpful with the arrangements, and when we arrived the help did not stop they are a lovely family and made us very welcome and the accommodation is just perfect everything you could need. The location is very central for towns and beaches we were a party of 20 and everyone could do their own thing or go as a group. Thank you Rob Erica & boys for a wonderful holiday, sorry it has taken me so long to write this comment we stayed in April/May. We hope to see you again next year

  17. We had a great New Year at Keranmeriet. We spent time walking round the farm (trying to catch a glimpse of the coypu in the pond), walking along the Aven, flying our kite at Pointe de Trévignon and best of all, a New Year’s party at Keranmeriet with a friendly mix of Brits and locals. I found that it only took a couple of beers to be able to talk both French and Breton fluently. It was a great escape from life in London. Thanks to Erika, Rob and the boys for a great trip; we can’t wait for our next visit.

  18. We had a wonderful holiday at Keranmeriet at the beginning of July. As soon as we arrived at the farm we got a good feeling about the place. Rob, Erika and their boys were in the front garden and gave us a warm welcome. The Gite (the Dairy) was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a two week holiday. We really enjoyed having a private garden and sat out eating BBQ’d food most evenings. Erika gave us a comprehensive introduction to the farm and the surrounding area and she and Rob were on hand throughout our stay to answer our questions, without being intrusive. We’d recommend Concarneau and Pont Aven for a spot of sightseeing. Canoeing down the Aven was one of the highlights of our trip. At the end of the day the pool at the Gite was always a good way to cool off. A terrific place to stay whether you’re a couple (as we are) or a family. Of course the whole holiday experience was helped as we were lucky to pick the two hottest weeks of the year. Thanks Rob and Erika, we’ll be recommending you to our friends

  19. Just returned from a fabulous week’s holiday here… going for two weeks next year! Lots to do – very close to beautiful beaches to explore and also to interesting towns such as Concarneau and Quimper.
The gites are very well organised in spacious grounds and all our children enjoyed just hanging out there, or swimming in the pool, when we needed a rest from the ‘tourist trail’. Many thanks to Rob, Erica and the boys – who were so welcoming and helpful. looking forward to seeing you all again.

  20. We stayed for one week at the beginning of August and had a super time. The gite was fantastic- very spacious, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could need while on holiday. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise on arrival. It was nice to sit out in the garden at the rear of the gite and the children enjoyed being able to play safely in the grounds of the farm. The swimming pool was immaculately clean and it was nice and refreshing after a day in the sun. Rob and Erica were extremely friendly and helpful and were very knowledgeable about the local area. Overall we had a fantastic stay at Keranmeriet and will certainly stay there again on return to Brittany.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
    Paul, Jayne and family

  21. We had a lovely 10 day stay at Keranmeriet. The travel directions given by Rob & Erika were spot on and we had a straight forward journey from Roscoff. The Gite was very comfortable, clean and well equipped.
The lovely beaches and attractions are within easy travelling distance, We found a good selection of restaurants in nearby Pont Avon only a short drive away.
We found a nice golf course “Kerbenez” close to Quimper which also does great food at very good prices.
All in all a great holiday, Thankyou Rob & Erika.

    Pat & Eric

  22. We had a lovely relaxing week in mid-June 2014. We flew to Rennes and hired a car, the journey across to Keranmeriet was very easy (2 hours) and Erika and Rob gave us a warm welcome. The accomodation is of a very high standard and exceptionally well equipped. We borrowed bikes from Rob and enjoyed tootling about on the back roads before a refreshing dip in the pool.
Location is ideal for exploring the coast and inland areas. We would particularly recommend the beaches at Cap-Coz and Beg-Meil. Also a trip north to explore the Nantes-Brest canal (built in the early 1800s) which passes through quiet and unspoilt countryside.
A week was not long enough and we are looking forward to returning to Keranmeriet.

    Neil and Sue

  23. This was a wonderful holiday experience. Erika and Rob have thought of everything. The gites are of terrific quality, outdoor play equipment/toys provided for the children, a welcome pack for the parents, bikes to ride on! What more could you want. We have booked for 2 stays next year.
    Thank you so much.
    The Carroll family.

  24. We loved our first stay in The Dairy at Keranmeriet. It was clean and comfortable, had wonderfull views and was perfectly set up for someone like David who, although not totally dependent on a wheelchair, has very limited mobility. Rob and Erika were great host and the location is peacefull and relaxing but also a great base for exploring all that Brittany has to offer.

  25. We found keranmeriet quite by chance on a google search, and we were delighted with the full holiday package that the cottage, area and hosts provided. We had our 17th month twin boys, ourselves and grandparents on the trip. The cottage and child safe garden were very well equipped ,with toys for the children and even a set of boules for the adults.
It was my first visit to Brittany and I was very impressed with the places and beaches within a short drive. Pont aven and Concarneau are a must and our fav beach was Port manech. The weather was excellent, perfect, not too hot for little ones. The welcome pack and maps were very helpful, but many thanks to Rob, Erica and family who were on hand to help with any questions. It felt a very friendly and welcoming home from home and for all those that need it, Wi fi is available in the yard nr the farmhouse. They even provided a table and sun umbrella. Would definitely recommend these cottages and hope to be back. The darling family.

  26. We spent a week in Minaouet in early July 2015 and can thoroughly recommend it. The accommodation is spacious, clean and very well equipped. The location is perfect; surrounded by delightful countryside but only a short drive from local sights and amenities. Rob and Erika were attentive and helpful but not intrusive.
Pont Aven, Concarneau, Vannes and Pointe de Raz are all worth a visit and the local beaches are great (although the sea was ‘bracing’).
    A lovely week.

  27. We stayed at The Dairy 11th – 18th July 2015 and happily recommend it. Well equipped, light and spacious – particularly liked the ‘wet room’ concept in the bathroom. Rob and Erika made us very welcome and were always available but unobtrusive. Two very friendly cats kept us company on several evenings. The surrounding countryside is very peaceful and easy on the eye.
    A very good week.

  28. We spent two weeks in Moros at the beginning of July. This was our 5th visit to Brittany, and the 5th location we have stayed in. And it’s top of the list! We certainly hope to be back.
The combination of a rural setting, while being close to main roads for day trips, was spot on. An impatient 8 year old means that car journeys are limited to about 1 hour max. Not needing to negotiate a maze of slower minor roads (their aesthetic value tends to be wasted on our little one!) meant that we could spread our wings quite a bit.
The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. We made good use of the BBQ too!
Having a sole use of a washing machine was great. Everything dried so quickly with the sun and the breeze. We definitely over-packed, though, so next time I would bring half the amount and make use of the washing machine.
We found the Boulangerie in Melgven to be most convenient, and there is a small car park just opposite. Alternatively, there is one behind the Carrefour Contact, which is handy for fuel.
Vannes, Auray and Pont Aven were all great for a wander and a long lazy lunch (get in as close to 12 as possible, as the restaurants fill up very quickly and most stop serving lunch about 2pm).
Plenty of beaches options – quiet & isolated; town beaches; sandy or rocky (great for a clamber and a crab hunt).
We found the Labyrinthe de Pont-Aven a little repetitive (we left before completing all the sections) and more than a little odd (circus theme, and clowns give me the creeps!). It was our 8 year old that asked to go home, as she’d had enough.
Our trip was timed to coincide with the visit of the Tour De France to Brittany. We brought our own bikes too and Erika and Rob kindly stored these in the barn for us. It was great to be so close to the off-road long distance cycle track (voie 7) in Rosporden. Fantastic on a scorching hot day, as it’s almost completely shaded by trees all the way to Scaer. http://cycling.brittanytourism.com/cycle-route-in-brittany.

  29. Just spent a week in The Farmhouse. Just lovely! Three big bedrooms and all the space you need. The site is great with plenty of space to walk and a good size pool.

Keranmeriet itself is ideally located for the beaches at Port Manech (recommended) and La Foret (also recommended). Coffee and the market in Pont Aven is worth it as is a leisurely lunch in the old city at Concarnau.

We had a great time and were well looked after by Erika and Rob.

Now, you found your holiday, if it’s available then book it. Don’t wait, do it now.

  30. We’ve just had our second fabulous half term holiday at Keranmeriet. We stayed in Belon which was spotless, very spacious for the 5 of us and had all we needed. The children loved the freedom of the outside space, borrowing bikes and heading down to the meadow. We all appreciated the welcome addition of the new pool heater-thanks Rob! Pool was lovely and warm.

Erika and Rob are perfect hosts, around if you need anything but never intrusive and our children enjoyed playing with the boys very much. Erika is a star and helped me out when we arrived with hungry children and food less disorganised parents-thanks Erika, I promise to plan better next time!

The area is perfect for a family holiday-clean quiet pretty beaches, you are spoilt for choice! We enjoyed trips to the iles de glenan and hiring a kayak on port manech beach. The high ropes adventure place just down the road-Adrenature is just brilliant. Loads of zip wires and plenty to entertain for a few hours. I’m sure we’ll be back xx

  31. We had a fantastic holiday and were so pleased with our stay. The accommodation itself was lovely, clean and tidy and perfect for the 7 of us. We had great fun exploring the grounds and loved the pool. The area was brilliant for being able to explore lots of different things, we went to several villages which were beautiful, the aquarium, the zoo, the beach, all within a short distance. Erika and Rob were fantastic hosts and made us feel welcome, on hand to help with any queries we had. We would definitely recommend this holiday.

    • Hi Karen,
We are really pleased you enjoyed your holiday here and thank you for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family and we hope to see you again.
      Best wishes, Rob and Erika

  32. Just got back from a wonderful
2 weeks at Keranmeriet. This was our second visit in 2 years. The setting is super, all the Gites are equipped to a very high standard and Rob and Erika are perfect hosts. They are on hand if required but otherwise ensure their guests have privacy. The pool is a sun trap and a huge bonus to what Keranmeriet offers. We would have no hesitancy recommending it as a great family holiday option.

    • Hi Kieran and Anna,
It was great to see you all again and we are so happy that you enjoyed your holiday here. Thank you for your very kind review and we look forward to seeing you all again one day. Best wishes, Rob and Erika

  33. We had a fortnight in the Farmhouse in July, and had a lovely time. The property is wonderfully spacious and bright, and had everything we needed. The farm is a great location, with walks down to the river and through the woods, and a beautiful pool area (I’m not sure we appreciated how attractive it was going to be just from the photos on the website – the real thing is charming).
It was easy to find things to do very nearby for the whole family (grown ups and children aged 10 and 13) – we spent lazy time on beaches (Port Manech, Raguenes, Trevignan especially) and swimming in the sea (the water around the Iles de Glenan really is as clear and blue, and the sand as fine and white as it looks in the publicity photos). When we needed to get some exercise, the coast path round from Raguenes was very attractive, and the paddle-boarding and kayaking at Port Manech was great fun without being at all hard-core. Pont Aven, Concarneau and Quimper provided the culture and urban interest we needed – and nice things to eat, of course. We hardly had to go further afield, although we went to Carnac to say we had seen the stones and on to Quiberon to enjoy a beach resort, rather than a rural beach. And although Rosporden probably doesn’t feature in many guide books, it provided exactly the sort of normal, non-touristy French town that gave the children a good sense of being in a different country; good food shops, a weekly market, a pretty church and so on. We would recommend this corner of Brittany, and I can’t imagine you would find a better experience than a stay at Keranmeriet.

    • Hi David, thank you for such a great review, with lots of ideas of things to do it will be very informative for any future Guests. It really is a beautiful corner of France and so unspoilt, so we are pleased that you and your family love the area as much as us and had a great holiday. We hope to welcome you all back again one day, with best wishes, Erika and Rob

  34. We had a wonderful fortnight at Keranmeriet this summer. Our three children (10, 8 and 5) thoroughly enjoyed themselves swimming, cycling round the farm, den building in the woods, picking apples and making juice, barbecue by the river and lots of running around. The nearby beaches are glorious – deep, calm water, great snorkelling and lots of rocks to jump off. The nearby towns of Pont Aven and Concarnac are very pleasant and there are lots of activities (aerial tree climbing, maize labyrinth). We will be going back next summer! The Laha Family

    • Hi Alex, we know what a hectic life you have so thank you for finding the time to make a lovely review, . We enjoyed meeting you all, our boys loved playing with your children and were sad to see them leave. So pleased that you enjoyed your holiday in Brittany and you found lots to see and do. We will look forward to seeing you all next August and hope you have a fab time on your holidays in February. Best wishes, Erika and Rob

  35. We had a great stay at the end of August for a week with our two boys (aged 12 and 9). The Gite was well appointed and very comfortable. Setting provided a wonderful opportunity to explore the countryside. Erika and Rob hit the right balance of being on hand to help with any queries but allowing you to enjoy your stay without intrusion. Erika has left a wealth of information on local amenities and attractions in the gite which was very helpful. The children really enjoyed being able to feed the chickens and playing with Luna, the golden retriever puppy and of course made great use of the pool. This was our first to Brittany and we were blown away by the beauty of the beaches and lovely towns all on the doorstep.

    • Hi Chris and Laura, thank you for your very kind review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday here and that you found Brittany as beautiful as we do. Luna loved playing with the children and is missing all the attention she received during the summer. We hope to see you and your lovely boys again one day. Best wishes, Erika and Rob
